Nearly forgot to note this weeks fitness adventures - which were super slack as I had that stupid cold for the first part, and today it has been raining (which is a good thing though - the rain, not having  a cold).

Wednesday – went for a walk pushing the destroyer in the pram, and the princess rode her bike, and took a gigantic stack on the way back home when she hit the sand. She is sporting a harry potter-esque bruise on her forhead now. I only went up to the hayshed and back which would be about 1.5kms (new category – let’s call that one a short).

Friday (early AM before the rain) - Killer bike ride down to the dodgy corner and back to the house via the road. Nearly fell off myself when a neighbour in his ute came up behind me and I didn’t hear him because I had my i-pod cranked. So that would be a 4.5er.

Forgot to note my KM’s for last week.

Had a bit of a slack attack – only went out twice. Rode the bike both times, and did a new part of the track as the Farmer had left the gate open, so I could just go on through.

So I have named the rides I do…

Up to the hayshed on the hill, down to the gate, back up again and back to the house is approx 2.1k. Let’s call that ride Basic Hayshed.

Up to the hayhed, down to the gate, back up again, over past the hayshed, down the otherside to the tree near the dam is around 2.6k. Lets call that the Dam Tree ride (which is a hard one cause of all the bloody sand).

UP to the hayshed, down through the gate, past the windmill and to gate on the dodgy corner near the dam is 3.7kms. Let’s call that one the Dodgy Corner ride.

THEN today because Moe the Ferocious didn’t tag along, I did up to the hayshed, down to the dodgy dam, back up to the hayshed, and then down past the tree near the other dam out the gate and back to the house via the road. Now I haven’t clocked that one yet, but I daresay it would be about 4.5ks. Let’s call that one the Killer ride as my legs and arse were totally numb afterwards!

SO for last week,  I did a Basic hayshed 2.1 + Dodgy Dam 3.7 = total 5.8k’s.

Am aiming for a better result this week, at least more than 8 k’s.

Today I did the Killer: 4.5

Even though the amounts I am riding is not particulary impressive as of yet, I think I need some sort of table to chart the Km’s I clock up as motivation. I really should also be measuring to see if I manage to shift any muffintop and recording that as well. But I realllllyyyy don’t want to measure. Then the muffin spilliage and back fat is more real than I wish to belive even though the evidence is clear when I catch an unexpected sight of my bod in the mirror. BUT,as I refuse to ever weigh myself, scary tape measuring it’ll have to be. Not that I would EVER share those results with y’all. EVER! Until I manage to morph my body into a cellulite free, shorter Heidi Klumesque version, then I might share pix and stats. But until that happens *insert evil laugh at plan of never having to reveal going smoothly*, I ain’t going there at ALL!

OK, tired now (bloody daylight savings change over – I swear today seemed like it has already had 28 hours in it!). Off to bed to read a bit more Time Travellers Wife. Still not that enthralled – I am finding it a monotonus read a the moment, so it is taking ages.

Looking forward to the new book club classic pick of the Great Gatsby – I haven’t ever read it.

ciao. L.

1. I rode 3.7 km’s on my bike. My dog Moe the Ferocious tagged along. He was a tad exhausted by the end of it!

2. Going to watch True Blood (the encore version for this week) in about 1.5 hrs or so. Yay.

3. New category stories is up – the 1st April Category is “Bedtime Rituals”. Come along and check it out at www.categorystories.wordpress.com – we have a totally rad sponsor too, the Paper Pixie   etsy store!

4. This is what I did done make for said 1st April Category….mainly using a Q-Tea kit from earlier this year, with a few other random bits added on.

5. I am currently reading the book The TIme Travellers Wifeand it will be the 11thbook I have read so far this year. The book is creeping me out though at the moment – not sure if I like it or not. I did however recently read both The Guernsey Literary And Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, and both were freaking AMAZING books – do read if you can!

6. I can’t wait until my 4th Cousin (once removed) Barak Obama comes to our BBQ. He and Michelle are a bit busy in London at the mo, dodging angry purlons hurled by feisty feral mob type folks. So after all the London-eydramatics, I’m sure they’d both be up for a coldie and a snag on their way back home….and some Changs Cruncy Noodle salad.***

7. Each of these points references a number in them. Including this one with a random number 9 (that is my fave number).

Have a happy happy pre-weekend kids!

OH just gotta share this I found today when I wastrawling the net for shirtless hotties to share on the hot guy thread at SIS researching ocean wildlife for a school assignment.

gerard-butler

Fine specimen hey. He is apparently called the Gerardius Bulteriam. Very rare.

  • ** yes, for those who have emailed me, I did in fact figure that the email was an April Fools joke – even if it did arrive to my inbox after 12noon on the 1st. It just really really REALLY pisses me off that facebook is spamming people like that – I have a low opinion of facebook already (security failings, accessibility issues, general spam eminating from there), so having another junk email to wade through yesterday just got me rather shitty. AND I still didn’t (and refuse to) click the link!!

I am so slack! Well I have been a bit busy.

I was here….

Sydney 1

up in sydaneeee for that work conference. IT was OK actually, we met our new national boss. His name is Ed. I wanted to call him Mr Ed. Continually. Which would have been bad news if I had actually said it to his face…*HA*

I found the CUTEST bag up there – a Kathy Van Zeeland bronze tote which is so fabulous AND the perfect size ANNNND on sale AT 30% off and was THE bag I had been eyeing off on her site. I’ll have to take a photo of it at some point. I wonder if I can work one of the Category Stories categories to feature it….

Seeing as I used the last CS prompt of “I’m Lucky” to make this….

syd-nra cover

A little book with photos I took while I was up there.

Come along and play over at www.categorystories.wordpress.com and join – cool prize and all!

OK it is now Sunday 29th March, and I just realised I had it draft on this post instead of publish….duh.

SO what else have I been up to….

I am VERY proud of the fact that since last Sunday I have been on an exercise (and trying not to eat toooo much chocolate) kick. I finally got around to driving the tracks I run to actually clock how far I go. My “loop” which goes from the gates at the back of the sheep yards (I don’t count the 300 or so metres extra to get from the house gat to the gates at the back of the sheep yards, as that is my warm up/cool down walking area), along the little paddock and up the hill, into the hayshed paddock and down the hill, back up to the hayshed, OVER the hill, down to the tree near the dam, and then back up the hill to the hayshead and back home again, is 2.6 kms. So this week I have interval run (sprints then powerwalking for most of it, then sections of running) it twice, and taking the mountain bike for a whirl twice (the second time on the bike I went out the gate past the tree near the dam and back home along the road – so it would have been about 3.5ks). I am feeling MIGHTY pleased with my effort.

SO I am going to try and  keep a bit of a track on here what i manage to do. My aim is to do 8-10kms a week. More if I can. Although, I’ll have to work on the bindy situation – the little f*ckers keep getting in the tires on the bike and making them go flat rawwwther quickly – most annoying and inconvenient. The Farmer has put that slime crap in them, but they are still not bindy proof – I might have to see if there is some form of tractor tyre thickness I can get for my bike tyres! Although a new bike is on the cards – we the hill I go up is a sand rise, and I came a buster while going down towards the tree near the dam – I have a “men’s” style bike and that freaking bar across it is freaking painful!!! I definitely need a ladies model….

And my excertreks are also good for Moe our dog – he loves running along and snuffing out the rabbits and fox holes an things!

That is a good thing about living on the farm, I have all this space to run and don’t have to share it with anyone. Except for Mr Stampy the clydesdale (sometimes) – and random bits of sheep shit and cow poo. And the flies. BUT apart from that, when I get my ipod cranked up I’m good to go!

Are you totally bored yet?

Oh we watched the latest RAMBO movie on Austar tonight. It started at 8.30 and finished at around 9.45. In between my laughing fits at Sly’s mad “akting” skillz as he attempted to resuce the hapless missionaries, the insane amount of explosions resulting in people being blown to bits in rather graphic ways, a guy who was strung up and his legs being eaten by pigs, and the incredibly thoughtful and indepth dialogue, I nearly snorted my lime cordial out of my nose when at the end of the flick, when the Austar mob put their “behind the scenes” trailers on where the “aktors” have a chat about the movie, and the first thing Sly said was “this time round I wanted the movie to be meaningful and not just about the cocaine rings….”. Sly. you are SO funny!

Ok, off to bed, I’m a bit tired after I had a big day out with the Craft Group Chicks  – we were doing a fundraiser for the Worlds Greatest Shave, as one of the CGC’s bro’s went a full body wax to raise funds, as his wife was recently diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma. He has raised $2500 or so which is a pretty ace effort!

Ciao.

L.
